My Personal Journey

I reside in Virginia (according to Mapquest, exactly 37.92 miles from the White House in Washington, DC) along with my amazing family. I met my beautiful bride at Christ For the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas in 2000. Aneta was a scholarship student from Poland who met the Lord through an American missionary. She has an unquenchable zest for life that’s unequaled by anyone else that I know. I can still vividly recall a fellow classmate who echoed these sentiments concerning Aneta (this was before we started courting) that still rings true to this day: “Whenever I’m around Aneta she makes me feel like a million bucks!” (Perhaps that explains why I had to fight off literally 12 other guys in bible school who were obviously vying for her affections!) She’s an amazing woman and I’m blessed to call her my bride. We will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary this May 12!

Vocationally I wear several hats. After graduating from Bridgewater College in '97, I spent a few years in full-time campus ministry, which I absolutely loved. Honestly I thought I would be a vocational minister for the rest of my life, but a few unexpected events derailed my perfect plans. I graduated from CFNI in Dallas and proceeded to attend the School of World Missions at Fuller Theological Seminary for two semesters in '02. Meanwhile we continued to work in campus ministry. In '03 I took a sabbatical from ministry in order to allow the Lord to do a deeper work in my own heart. Then in ’04 a discovery dramatically changed our lives forever: I was diagnose with a degenerative eye condition called retinitis pigmentosa that slowly eroded my peripheral vision over time (and there was nothing that could be done to reverse the process). Therefore I was classified as legally blind; by law the DMV was required to revoke my driver's license. This happened somewhat unexpectedly and was quite the trial in my life. This coupled with a hearing impairment from birth amplified my gnawing sense of hopelessness when dealing with physical challenges at that stage of my life.

While this was transpiring in my life initially, I had to make a choice. Was I going to permit this to dictate my life or would I rise up in my authority in Christ to fulfill all that He had destined for me? Through His grace I choose to draw near to the Lord's heart during this difficult season in my life.

Thankfully my wife had just received her driving license prior to these turn of events. Now she found herself thrust—suddenly, without warning—into the role as the only driver. Meanwhile I was absolutely dependent upon others for transportation. It was humbling; and certainly frustrating at times as I felt like a burden to others. But the Lord is good! I quickly responded proactively by investigating my options. The Department of the Blind and Visually Impaired sent a representative to meet with me who agreed to send me back to school immediately to earn my masters degree! After two years of intense study I earned my M.A. in Organizational Leadership via Regent University. Shortly thereafter I secured work as a subcontractor with a firm to help them develop a leadership training seminar for system engineers. I was able to do this part time from home while also serving as volunteer staff at my church as a young adult pastor; and I was able to travel as an itinerant prophetic minister (which I absolutely love to do!).
2009 was another year of transition for us as we moved to a new city one hour away from our previous residence in Fredericksburg. My contract expired as the company was bought out by a conglomerate in the defense industry. In 2009 I started Dominion Leadership Solutions, LLC; since I’ve expanded the overall scope of my business and will be launching it shortly (stay tuned for more details to follow)—it will include a publishing house and a training institute.

Also the Lord granted me favor with the Online Director of Ecclesia College who in turn asked me to help them launch the new online Bachelor of Christian Leadership degree. I’ll be designing courses right now and will teach them online once the student enrollment increases. (If you’re seeking a Christ-centered education that’s affordable, I highly recommend Ecclesia College.)
